This book feels like every mediocre Netflix show you’ve seen. The first 50 pages are particularly rough, but after that it’s easy enough to finish if you hate leaving a book incomplete.
More specifically, it has paper thin characters that are largely bland stereotypes. There’s a really big/obvious theme about older generations taking wealth and opportunities from the younger generations. That might be interesting if it was thoughtful or nuanced, but it’s pretty hamfisted and doesn’t put much thought into the idea.
All in all not unreadable, but not particularly scary, pretty forgettable characters (even the main crew admit to forgetting half of the characters), and a sense of self importance from throwing around some buzzwords without actually touching the meat of the ideas.
