I usually donโt write reviews but after seeing so many people sharing negative feedback I decided to support this in a positive direction. Wow what a wild ride. This is what you get when a story is loved and cherished by itโs makers. Beautiful artistic choices even though all of the game couldnโt have been put into 9 episodes as we all know. I mean it is not for everyone ofc and if you want to see a full on action packed full of zombie filled world this is NOT FOR YOU!
Subtle moments and teased action sequences all to focus more on the humanity aspect of things after the apocalypse. TLOU has always been about that and the adaptation embraced it well. People who are complaining about โwe saw zero zombiesโ go watch TWD where the dead appear out of thin air in every other episode just to kill someone off. From not exposing us to a lot of corticeps head on, focusing more on human violence towards one another, hard and emotional choices made the timings when they actually appear so effective and that made it feel like a breath of fresh air in all the โzombieโ related shows I have seen till now and ofc all the game references made me go all giggly. Episode 8 has to be the best episode with 9 and 2 close second.
Props to all the actors but papa Pedro and our swearing Bella flawlessly embodied their roles and the people who say otherwise should try acting themselves. All cameos of the voice actors of the game, side stories they shed light on made it very enjoyable and crying in the dark at other times. Looking forward to season 2 and how they manage to maybe change the events of the story to maybe make it align better to the audience although I liked the second game (please donโt attack me).
Overall great job Neil, Craig and all of HBO for creating something so close to our hearts.
