Well what can I say about Gladiator2 its truly a film that went from the sublime to the ridiculous and not even close to being anywhere as good as the first film. Although it tried as hard as it could to imitate the original it failed miserably and just made my eyes roll. The opening battle which included a ship battle scene was a promising start only for them to reenact the same battle in the coliseum with sharks which even in this day and age they would find pretty impossible to do. It tried so hard to get your heart strings going and again it failed and even tried to get a bit of Russell Crowe in there but even that couldn't save a truly dreadful movie.

Just a great film with superb acting and with music I wouldn't give the time of day for usually but in the end I was mesmerized and tapping away to it beauty . The end sequence was clearly the stand out part of the film but also the early hostility of JK Simmons to the entire band was acting out of this world and that he got an award for it was surely no surprise to anyone as he was just brilliant.You have to be great to get through to me and this film ticked every box.10 out of 10 sheer brilliance

Knew nothing about this film and never would have bought it in a million years but as a gift I thought meahhh.And after 5 minutes I thought I was right and my brother an idiot.Anyway I stuck with it and was so emotional by the end of the film I had to watch all over again just to get over how it made a cynical man like me feel inside.Hanks and the rest of the cast were just fantastic and I was particularly impressed with the script and the direction of the film and even the child like music and visual effects got passed the cynic in me. Three sections of the film made my chest burst with a powerful emotional response and the tears followed even after watching it numerous times.10 out of 10 for acting and storyline and Hanks was so good that I wonder if I,ll ever see him in a poor film. Brilliant just BRILLIANT

I have an open mind but I,m critical of this film as it's so predictable and confusing all in the same sentence. Visual effects are good but acting is poor and the whole film tries to shock you but always when you just are expecting to be shocked. Its a poor man's Alien and Gravity all in one and the characters (however famous they are) just don't make me care for them and the final twist just added to the whole disastrous film I,d just watched. A film that tried to be a bit of loads of other films and hoped great actors would save it but they failed. Proof that good writing and good directing are vital even for a high budget film.

I love films that make me forget I,m 54 years old and along with my Daughter she found it entertaining but I put the happy face knowing I been sold a dud.Micheal Caine was superb but not enough from him the kids acted well with a limited script and the Parental issues was an interesting sub-plot but what was the casting director thinking putting Russell Brand into the bad guy role I,ll will never know.The guy spoilt the film the special effects looked like they were from the Willy Wonka,s Chocolate Factory first edition from the seventies with the kids flying around clearly showing that they were attached to wires with a green screen behind.The wishes was brushed aside and the battle between the kids and Brand was far to prominent in the film that could have hit the Harry Potter heights with a good director and producer not to mention a special effects department that knew how to convince a critics eye.A real shame as the idea was brilliant but let down by what could only have been a very low budget and people who are still learning on the job. Disappointed to say the least 2 out of 10

Funny,Thoughtful,Edgy,Scary and great Music loved it.Watch it to cheer me up and I,m 53 so helps keep me young.
