Such a good film. I loved all of it, the casting, the effects, the plot, the script ... it was just a beautiful piece of art. And people who say it's "too woke" or "in-your-face feminism" are wrong and right, because it is woke and it does empower women, but it also does give men a role (if you watched the whole thing), because they do focus on the Kens at the end, and bring around equality eventually.
Think of all those films where girls were the sidepieces who add almost nothing to the plot, and now it's being switched around just to show people how wrong it is (which everyone is confirming, because of all the negative reactions). And it wasn't blatantly addressed and called out back then, because it was normal. At least now people are beginning to realise that it's not.
Regardless of whether it appealed to everyone's morals or not, you have to admit that Barbie was a good film. I'll respect people who don't like the film because they genuinely didn't think it was that great, and I'll lose that respect if it was almost solely because of their own politics. It's annoying that I even have to say this, I'd love to just talk about how amazing of a film it was, but unfortunately people just have to have these reactions about it.
Anyway, solid movie. Almost 10/10, but I still don't think it's near my favourite movies of all time. At least I think that because of my actual tastes, and not because of what I thought of the "overly progressive message".
