BLOODY BRILLIANT! Alan wake 2 is not only a worthy follow up to the original story it surpasses the original in every way. Remedy games always goes the extra mile when telling a story and itโs my opinion that they really pulled out all stops with this one. This is easily one of the best video games Iโve ever played and I have been playing video games since home consoles were invented. This games twists and turns keep your head on a swivel. I didnโt find any part of the game sloggy or boring. I do have a bit of a bias when it comes to remedy games as I feel like they are a premier game studio (right up there with rock star, Sony and Nintendo) and that Remedy is pushing the boundaries of what a game should be. Saga Andersonโs mind place was incredible and while feeling sophisticated, it never felt unnecessary or in any way a block. I loved how doing things inside the mind place affected things in the game world. Alanโs plot board was less interesting but still very effective and the fact that his writing affected your surroundings was still pretty next level. The game was so good that when it ended I didnโt want it to. It plays out like an amazing detective show, complete with episode endings (that comes with great music from indie artists ) and the weird musical scene in the game totally blew my sonโs mind as he watched me play it. I am so excited to dig into the DLC now. I will return and update the review once Iโve played through the new chapters. Iโm so excited to see what remedy has up its sleeve for the future.
