Never done a review for a TV show…but this one seemed necessary. As a proud Michigander, I was pretty excited to see this show is based on a town in Michigan, albeit a fictional one. Unfortunately, it was filmed in Canada and clearly not much research was done on Michigan. For example, there is no death penalty here. Also, our roads do not have a single line down the center, there are not bears wandering around (at least in the lower peninsula), Grand Rapids is in West Michigan not southwest Michigan, Benton Harbor would definitely not be considered a soft assignment for MSP, and the list goes on. If you’re going to depict our glorious state, do it right. Do your homework. And for heavens sake, maybe consider filming here! Apparently season two is going to be filmed somewhere in Pennsylvania!! Come on! I won’t even go into all of the many gaping plot holes throughout the season…just like season 4 of Yellowstone. It seems Mr. Sheridan may be getting stretched too thin. Too bad. Both shows have the potential to be pretty amazing.
