I find it quite amusing how we often overlook character development in shows and movies.
Firstly, let's talk about Tony Stark, who died being great and had a great character arc. Yet, we conveniently forget that Tony was far from perfect in his early days. He was narcissistic, created destructive weapons, and showed little regard for others. It took him several films to evolve into the hero we admire.
Secondly, this show has a narrative arc that allows for growth and reflection, while Tony Stark's journey spans multiple films. We arenโt giving them a chance. Not to mention Riri had a great on screen presence in the movie she was in.
Lastly, it's disheartening to consider that if the child in question were white and from California, the response would likely be overwhelmingly positive. Yet, because this child is Black and from Chicago, we struggle to embrace and appreciate the character. It's troubling that as a society, we can't simply enjoy art without feeling the need to criticize it.
We seem to have lost our way. Let's focus on living in the moment and appreciating creativity, rather than searching for reasons to tear it down. It's truly disappointing.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Keep up the great work!
