Ford vs Ferrari was an incredible film. As a young editor I knew Rod Hall, the late storied Baja 500 champion who raced his Hummers in the deserts of countries all over the world. One of his most memorable racing anecdotes (and teaching moments for this young editor) was his story of "rolling" his Hummer END-OVER-END, during Paris-to-Dakar as I recall. He told me this the day I rolled my Jeep on the way to meeting him for a magazine interview. (I'd called him on my cell, upside-down in the ditch, to say I'd be a little late for our meeting...) His warning was a simple one for anyone ~ driver/racer/editor/human being: "To finish first, first you have to finish."
