Never would have guessed that a science fiction book published in 1957 could draw such wild hateful responses. This book is about a dystopian America becoming a communist country and its fall. Parts of this book are almost prophetic with what we are seeing these days. Other parts look very familiar with the fall of the Soviet Union some 34 years after this book was published. Whenever I have mentioned this book in online book groups The angry, profanity laced responses from pro-big government folks about the book and it's author are over the top!!! This book is filled with challenging ideologies that begs one to use critical thought to digest their legitimacy. Regardless of their legitimacy in the real world it is a great exercise of the mind to weigh the different sides of the story line. A skill that seems almost lost these days. If you enjoy pondering about storylines in books, you will likely enjoy this book.
