My son & I loved the book (apart from the very last 2 pages - very disappointed in the ending). The movie was extremely rushed, left out a lot of key moments that explain certain scenes & lacked the same momentum as the book. I feel that this book could have been made into a decent kids TV program - you know, like the hundreds of loveable Aussie Kids Series we had growing up in the 80s & 90s. It could then have led to other series being made! 🤞 someone sees my comment & turns it into a kids TV program - that would be much better!
