Could not have a better strength of Actors. They are all wonderful in their own right. But I really wanted this to be a memorable piece of work, the kind of thing you pull out every few years but I don't think that is going to be the case and maybe that was not the goal in the first place. I am on unsure footing when it comes to the streaming world.
But here it goes hopefully it gets to the right people.
1. Writers please write your characters with your actors nuances in mind. Some examples SVU (early years with Stabler) Will and Grace (any years), Golden Girls (season 2-6)
2. Mrs. Aniston is too beautiful to be mad all the time. To have Alex taking herself so seriously doesn't track. It's not interesting to watch. Make a choice on who she is and then let Ms. Aniston run with it. What is Alex supposed to be good at doing? We don't have to know every thought that goes through Alex's mind at the exact moment by her facial expressions.
3. Too much explaining to us what people are doing and thinking NO just show us the action, that's what flashbacks do surely Apple ๐๐ has the budget. Instead of telling us what X did flashback or Cut to X doing it. Let us be judge. Let us make our own conclusions.
4. Stella's character should be a producer or Anchor she is a creator not a bean counter. The actress has incredible presence...use it.
5. If you use the F word every five minutes it just feels desperate for writing. Find some others ways to shock and awe that have depth.
6. Invite some really good journalists from Back in the Day to the set to consult. Jayne Kennedy, Janet Hall (Currently Alabama Network) Joan London etc.
7. If you can get your hands on old footage of Jessica Savage study study study.
8. Mrs. Margulies is a pro. Need to let her navigate her way through she is a great dance partner that knows how to back lead...LET HER DO IT!!!!
9. Need someone to rise up and Carry the show. Think Larry Hagman's JR.
Lastly, great shows have a heart beat, a pulse, if you will. Need an Actors Director they exist as opposed to production and script Director maybe a Debbie Allen or Barbara Hall to give Mrs. Leder a breather to focus on other aspects. Collaboration is key!!!
