I think some of it was voice overs - possibly due to actors having language issues which comes across as bad acting, but overall I loved it, and they really made this film to empower women, which I think they did a good job sending that message across. The original invokes compassion and empathy for the character of Mulan and her struggle as a woman fitting in the role of the Chinese womanhood expectations, and this reboot emanated that attribute. Despite it not having the comedic element or the songs, I would recommend the film.
