Absolutely beautiful cinematography, breathtaking and expertly crafted shots. Fantastic use of building tension and dread without the need to relieve it with cheap jump scares. Beautiful and horrifying costume design. Finally, I loved the fact that there was no identify politics rammed into the story where it doesn't belong. The story was the classic heros journey for the character Ellen. She started as a lonely girl who called the devil into her life for some company, then she fell in love and allowed that love to motivate her to grow as a person. Eventually she chose to sacrifice all to save others. Female heros journey with no unessecary preaching.
