First I have to say I read the book, which I loved. The book was definitely not intended for children. Knowing what the story is, I turned it on to watch, wow. I loved it. It is a very toned down version of the original story but it stays close to what the original story is. This show I would definitely allow children of a certain age to watch ( about 7 and up) as there is some violence and death mentioned and shown briefly. Overall I enjoyed the telling of one of my favorite books. I would watch this show again.
