I read it myself and I read Journal papers and don't mind them. I put it down. I am glad people found it helpful. I would not recommend this book to clients. I would recommend something else. It was recommended by two therapists. Most of the material is well-known through studies. extreme repeated stress and trauma and PTSD, and so forth can damage your brain structures and prime your body to be ready to take flight. It is exhausting for one's body to be scanning for danger. Severe stress like PTSD is not good for your mind, emotional health, and or bodily health. Yes, the body and the brain do keep "score." I don't know if it is better if the client has a workbook. I simply did not like the way it was written and I would not write traumatic stories out in detail as it could have an effect on already traumatized readers. Also, some people that have been through a trauma(s) are going to have a hard time reading it because it is so dense. It needs to be rewritten if it is going to be given to clients to read.
