I'm not a huge fan of DC, but the DC Extended Universe has about eight films, making 'Aquaman' the best in the franchise. 'Justice League' was tedious, uninteresting, slow, badly written, and lacking horribly.
Clark Kent/Superman didn't have much of a role here, or barely any screen time. Henry Cavill makes a great Superman, and it was kind of wasted. Bruce Wayne/Batman was okay, but not great. I feel like Ben Affleck doesn't quite fit the role. Diana Prince/Wonder Woman was a bit uninteresting, but Gal Gadot does make a decent Diana Prince. Arthur Curry/Aquaman is not very comic book accurate, but does have a fun and enjoyable personality. Barry Allen/Flash was eh. His acting was horrible, his humor didn't work great, and was NOTHING like the character. Victor Stone/Cyborg EXTREMELY flat. Mera (Amber Heard) was forgettable.
THE PROS:
1. The film had amazing special effects and visuals. Yes, some of the effects looked fake and obvious at times, but that was a part of the comic book look.
2. Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot do a great and decent job as Clark Kent and Diana Prince. Jason Momoa isn't bad either. He doesn't look like the comic book Aquaman, but for the DC Extended Universe, he does pretty well.
THE CONS:
1. The green screen and backdrops were absolutely terrible. It was completely obvious when the green screen was being used at certain points.
2. The villain (Steppenwolf) was awful. He had no motivation, no excitement, and was uninterested. I didn't like him at all.
3. The acting was FAR from perfect. To be honest, personally, I think Jason Momoa had the best acting in the cast. His acting came more naturally and effortlessly than the others.
4. The plot, storytelling, and screenplay could've been better. Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg were built up in 'Batman V Superman', which I think made this film a cluster. They should've made solo films for all of the characters before making a crossover film. Because the Marvel Cinematic Universe did this, 'Marvel's Avengers' was more successful.
5. Where's Hal Jordan/Green Lantern? He's a very popular member of the Justice League. Also, where's Hawkman and Martian Manhunter? They were also major parts of the Justice League. At least give them a cameo or post-credit scene.
6. There were absolutely no WOW moments or memorable scenes. The climax was rushed and the story was all over the place.
7. Absolutely NONE of the clips shown in the trailer made it into the film.
Honestly, this film could've been worse, but it also could've been better. The film had SO much potential. From watching the trailer, I expected so much more. Let's hope The Snyder Cut of the 'Justice League' will be better than this catastrophe. It was disappointing.
