As an African Journalists who spent most of his career tirelessly contributing to the attainment and sustenance of a system called Democracy in a tiny mountainous country characterised of political instability, corruption, inequality, poverty and poor economic growth, called Lesotho, entirely surrounded by the Republic of South Africa, I read the Anarchism subject with very tense attitude fearing it would pollute my democratic orientation. I thought it was about gangsterism, destruction and many other negativities to development. However, after reading chapter two titled Minority Vs Majority, i think I found important answers on what is actually a problem with my country, Lesotho. It is interesting that I got answers from a book bearing a title that I would otherwise avoid. While the book was published in 1910, it carries serious messages for young democracies. I encourage civic and political activists to read the book to find answers to most troubling questions about democracy. Basically the message I gathered is that democracy is just a system that justifies minority (Parliamentarians) to rule majority (Electorates). Using the democratic principles politicians capture a state only to erode its resources and money with friends and families while the electorates are dumped into poverty.
