A real rollercoaster ride of a story that sadly (both from a viewerโs perspective and for those convicted and still incarcerated) is not concluded. It really made me feel how fortunate we are here in the UK to have more robust police interview protocols. I also suspect that our judicial system (whilst being fallible) is more open to challenge. I cannot help wondering if โThe Systemโ in Wisconsin is typical. Some of the police and judicial methods and decisions featured in this program are truly incomprehensible. Even dressing one of the accused in a black and white stripey prison outfit! Goodness me! How any viewer could not conclude a gross miscarriage of justice has occurred is inconceivable. How any of the police and judiciary involved, and for that matter the victimโs family, cannot see a miscarriage of justice had occurred is mind boggling. For these reasons and the fascinating participants, it makes compelling viewing.
