Cold Case is a movie driven by a parallel narrative where an investigative journalist and an assistant commissioner work to solve a case concerning the murder of a woman. The movie has an interesting premise and entertaining moments that arise from the attempt to combine horror and thriller elements from both narratives.
Unfortunately, this method of storytelling only works to an extend to a point where I had to question whether it was necessary to involve the horror elements at all or even the narrative of the journalist. Another major problem I have with the movie is the plot's reliance on certain coincidences that work in favor of both protagonists to solve the mystery and reveal the killer.
Performance wise there isn't much you can say. The lead actors all did a good job but nothing that is noteworthy as the characters they played weren't that challenging. Ultimately, it is a one-time watch movie. What felt like a good thriller in the beginning was met with lazy writing.
