And Just Like That...Michael Patrick King has created another hit series. I am thoroughly enjoying And Just Like That (AJLT)! I was a Sex and the City (SATC) series and movies fan for many years and I can say that I am still a fan of this dynamic ensemble cast. I appreciate the racial diversity among the new faces/cast members, the maturity of the characters--we certainly cannot expect mid-50s Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda to think and act as they did when they were in their mid-30s--and the relatable topics which are germane to women who are in the characters' age group. I'm impressed with the character development of both the returning and new cast members and continue to be on the edge of my seat each Thursday morning to learn more about each of them. Much like SATC, AJLT delivers in terms of aesthetics--fabulous fashions including Carrie's coveted shoe collection, swanky restaurants, and vast opulently appointed Upper East Side condominiums. I'm not sure of the median age of those who have written poor reviews of AJLT, but for me it feels as if my girlfriends and I have evolved with the characters. Within the past month, we engage in lively weekly discussions about issues addressed and opposing POVs as they relate to AJLT. I would highly recommend this series, mostly to those who are over the age of 40 because I honestly don't believe that many under this age would fully appreciate the tapestry of characters and the pertinence of their stories as they relate to both their personal and interpersonal development.
