Dear Mr. Letterman: Your body of work from the Late Show will always be endearing to so many fans. You were the Beatles of Late Night. What you may not realize is hearing you say โthe last 10 years of your life was a waste doing the show, is very disheartening.
It feels almost as if you wanted those years killed. Like if you could, you would suicide them.... And what you fail to comprehend is how much people loved you then, and still love you now. I know all good things come to an end. Iโm sure you were exhausted and felt burned out.
But, you were always Great! So talk yourself off the Ledge of the Past. The timing of your retirement dovetailed with the worst time ever for America. You were one of the few people who had an audience of non-partisan viewers. I think you could have been the glue to keep some people from following the Orange disaster.
We miss your biting humor and digs at tRump before he was even a candidate. We miss Stupid Human Tricks and crazy pet tricks, the Top 10 and watching some of the best of musicians, anywhere... playing on your show as guests and of course the Late Night Band.
Last of my petty opinions, I miss seeing your awesome jawline and full mouthed silly gap toothed smile. Iโd rather you cut off that wooly beast and wear it on your head tRump style.
Love from a fan.
