There are many online games that catch our attention, but yet we find ourselves hesitant to abandon our current game to try. Out of all the genres in gaming, MMOs are an invested endeavor. However, a few months ago I left my most beloved game (due to frustration) in search of a new game to experience. What I found was FFXIV.
At first, I didn't know what to expect. The free trial allowed me to enter this new world, and it strangely reminded me more of a single player RPG, than a traditional MMO; but that premature perception would soon change once I started dungeon crawling. The visuals are stunning, and each piece of music is a masterpiece. Though the story progression can be tedious, and overwhelming, the plot twists are amazing.
After weeks of playing the main story, and each expansion, I was ready for Shadowbringers. Everything the game setup prior to this has made Shadowbringers my favorite expansion out of any MMO to date. The story is amazing, the graphics are stunning, and the musical composition to each new experience leaves you wanting more.
I will say that this game is weak when it comes to PvP, but besides that, and the occasional fetch quest, Square Enix new expansion to FFXIV is a 9/10. A true diamond among the MMO ruffs.
