!Spoilers! In 12 minutes I have never cried harder in my entire life. This short film uses its animation and silent storytelling is filled with such raw emotion that it was able to pull at my heartstrings. The short begins with a husband and wife distant to each other. grieving their daughter but we aren’t told what it was caused her demise. The shadows of these characters express the emotions they are experiencing at the moment and it’s cuts to the happy memories of their daughter from her birth, a vacation her first kiss to her 10th birthday. These scenes give you a sense of joy but with tears slowly starting to form. However this joy is snatched away when it cuts to her walking to school as the shadows try to stop her to no prevail. It then cuts to a silent hallway where gunshots are heard. Causing you to realize the pain is not over but just beginning ending the scence with a text saying the name of the short. This moment is when I broke down. The text itself took my breath away and made me sob uncontrollably to the point where I couldn’t stop crying for the next hour. The shadow of the daughter then pulle the parents together for the first time since her death where the mother then proceeds to cry in her husbands arms as the short ends with the daughter Turning into a light that envelops them. This film is a solid 5 out of 5 stars for me as its raw emotions and storytelling put me into the mood that the directs wanted me to
