Kids insisted on buying it because their friends had it. After taxes in Canada that was about $42 for the hero edition + $32 for a normal edition. I warned that I had the feeling that because there isn't any building aspect that this is not like a Minecraft like experience where things can keep growing, but that it is more like a Mario thing where you get to the end and that's it. They insisted on spending their allowance money. I thought it would be a good lesson for them to learn the value of money and learn that some things are a waste.
They had fun a few mere hours, go to the end, and that was that. What a rip off. Shame on Microsoft of peddling this to children. It also doesn't leave a very good impression of their relation with Microsoft in the future.
So then the kids discovered that Microsoft has a promotion for a new game renting service where you pay $1 per month for a trial period that includes something like 100 games, with the Dungeons game being one of them. We feel seriously had here. How dare they lure in the children with a grossly overpriced game and hiding the fact that they could have had it for a mere $1. Yeah, not good.
