This film really was just meh in my opinion. The acting, casting, music, and effects were good, but I couldn't get invested in the story or any of the newer characters. And though the effects were good I couldn't help but feel they were actually somewhat of a downgrade from the first. The first had very limited cgi but it at least embraced that and as a result was a very stylized film. The cgi here, though definitely an upgrade and easier to look at, ended up feeling a bit more generic, and in general a lot of things in this film felt generic. I didn't find too many of the newer characters very appealing or interesting, and the overall pacing of the film was kinda weird. That said, the one thing I will absolutely give this film credit for is the music. Daft Punk did a fantastic job and I will absolutely commend them for that. Other than that this film is less than stellar in my eyes, I hope they do better with the third one.
