Was really hoping that this show would be good but it was so excruciatingly annoying with all the complex science words and phrases that could have been easily broken down by saying things like, "this version of Godzilla is coming from another dimension using a portal". When instead they wanted to explain this by saying things like "something that exists somewhere else but is also here in the present time can look different one way, but how it actually looks can be seen by looking at it from a different angle", like what? I think the most ridiculous phrase out of this anime was (spoilers) "Orthogonal diagonalizer". I know this is a real term, but the use of the term on top of all the other complex science words they threw at the audience made me shut off the show at some points. It was like they thought that using big words would make the show seem super intellectual to the audience, but instead it was just super annoying. I had to fast forward so much I feel like I wasted a part of my life watching this. As a Godzilla fan I'm here to see the kaiju wreck the town and fight each other not to listen to the human characters talk, but I feel like the show mainly focused on the people so it was hard for me to enjoy it. I was also hoping to see Godzilla a lot in this show, maybe because it's only the first season, but I feel like Godzilla's screen time was very limited. I remember at one point I was watching the show and I was thinking to myself, "I thought this was a show about Godzilla, not Jet Jaguar." Gosh and the fact that RODAN WAS A WHOLE PACK OF PTEROSAUR just really sent me over the edge. Rodan is my favorite kaiju aside from Godzilla and the fact that they not only didn't give Rodan its powers, but also decided to make Rodan like a flock of pterosaur that flew around in a red cloud really pissed me off. It would be like if instead of having Godzilla, they just substituted it for a bunch of house sized, bi-pedal lizards and said "that's Godzilla". I feel like the 'Rodans' in the show really didn't even do anything and their presence in the show really held no weight. It was like seeing a side character that would pop into the plot every now and then. I was also pretty irked by the way Anguirus was so easily taken down after it got up the first time.
I really wished the show was better because I really wanted to like it.
