It would have been much better to spend more time building the characters around Mulan and include some of the humor of the original animated movie instead of creating a witch character which took away from the main plot and a lot of time. The movie flow was disjointed and robotic. At one point in the movie, Mulan goes from nearly getting executed to leading the who army of men. I am not sure whether the director is to blame or the writer or both.
