Before it's release, I had been in a state of dysthymia for 3 yrs prior. I had countless sleep-less nights, was completely unmotivated and always fatigued. This, of course, negatively impacted my work and social life as I seldom contacted my family and friends, some of whom had passed away during the period of my depression.
One dull evening, my sister and I saw an ad for a computer-animated film and she decided it was time I spent some quality time with my family so some tickets were bought and then came the movie...
It was the most beautiful theatrical masterpiece to have ever graced my eyes. It had the perfect mix of comedy, art, design and animation. For not a single second were any of my eyelids closed due to its uniquely engaging attributes.
After the movie, I left as a new man with a new outlook on life. Things had started going my way. My passion for the arts had been rekindled, my self-esteem sky-rocketed and as a result I asked for and received a promotion. It seemed GOD had began to look my way.
So here I am now, 19 yrs later and disease-free. All because of all the life choices which led me to watch that one life-changing film.
Actually, Shrek isn't a film...
It's a life-style.
