I'm most likely biased since I grew up loving Sonic the hedgehog but this movie reminded me of why I was so obsessed with him growing up. I'm really happy with his design and how he was made to be small and as lovable as classic sonic was. The movie was easy to swallow and is a good watch for all demographics. You don't have to know much about the franchise to watch this movie and understand what's going on. Again, it's very simple. The humor wasn't as nearly as horrible as I thought it was going to be. Though, there were a few jokes and pop culture references here and there that ended up making me cringe a little. The team who brought Sonic the Hedgehog to the big screen was in touch with the fandom and understood the group as a whole. They also understood Sonic as a character and did a wonderful job depicting him in this film. Jim Carrey brought a lot to this film as Doctor Robotnick, depicting the main antagonist as this strange and wacky villain. Overall, It was a fun watch and I wouldn't mind seeing future films introducing more of the original characters from the franchise.
