I had heard this film had excellent reviews but Emma Thompson was appalling. She couldn't decide what accent she had and behaved like someone who had a lobotomy. My test of a really bad character is when I'm so fed up with the pathetic behaviour of the hero and their total idiocy s when I start to root for the villains & hope that the baddies actually succeeded in killing them off just to bring this appalling film to and end.

I started this review before getting to the end & went on review forums to check that I had not gone insane and that it is really is as bad it is - how did this ever get picked off the cutting room floor and spliced together. I assume costs were kept down by not actually using anyone who can act - as someone suggested the dog has the only talent as it clearly is a dog whereas the humans in it are not believable as people. It is truly the worst acting and script I have ever seen 1 star is not fair are there negative stars??? Oh no the dogs died!! The only actor is dead....
