the movie is about a guy that escaped war and poverty and, from nothing, set up a successful society, only to get colour-revolutioned. The star, a representative of a foreign power, supplied "wish" funding to a magic fundamentalist to subvert order, overthrow the successful leadership and install the fundamentalist as a puppet leader in place of the previous rule with the excuse that they found wmds (forbidden magic) despite the fact that the only thing that power led to were hurt feelings & little else. By the end of the movie, the magic infrastructure, which was previous self-sufficient, is now wholly depending on foreign energy.

It's actually a really good buddy-movie.

It's weird, sad, funny and joyous - reminiscent of Benigni's 1997 film Life is Beautiful, but instead told from the point of view of an awkward, lonely, fanaticized child whose daily life is to navigate both the nationalistic fervor of Nazi Germany & the dangers that came with it.
