I was initially put off reading this because, going by the title and book cover, I thought it was a horror story but I read this on the recommendation of a friend and it changed the way I think about the whole drug culture.
It is enlightening without lecturing and has facts and references to back up it's claims.
Before reading this book I had the conventional idea of drugs and I was greatly affected by a close family member who took a variey of drugs over a 20 year period and who had spiralled down to losing jobs, stealing and living on the streets. I was just waiting for a visit from the police asking me to come and identify his remains. (He has, over the last 5 years, given up the drugs, returned to work and has started to repay his debts)
This book helped me to understand the problems and to see the benefits of a more humane way to tackle the drug problem. I recommend reading this book.
