This movie is well shot, but the story begins as a cliche and the ending seems random and not connected to the rest. The philosophy in this movie is either very deep or superficial, but unconvincing

Written in an interesting language - I read it in French - but the story is unconvincing. It is not clear why the fictional author Galwin Donnelly deserves such adulation. Perhaps good for students of French, but would not recommend otherwise

Entertaining but very historically inaccurate. There were no black men or women in Russia in 1921, but there are several in this TV series. A count lives in an hotel while bolsheviks and CheKa execute enemies of the people? Not plausible

Too long, story too convoluted and makes little sense. Charles Bronson acting is one note like his harmonica. But Claudia Cardinale is beautiful, otherwise I would rate this movie as 2

Too long, too much focus on minor characters, and hard to understand dialogue

Wonderful and delicate movie, with great acting by Jean Seberg. I also recommend the book.
