Frustrating is the word that comes to mind when I think of this film. Within the first 10 minutes we're into the premise of the movie and it doesn't really change from there. A team of magicians have been selected to work together and given the blueprints of a huge magic show to steal money from the rich, to give to the poor. They have no idea who is behind the plans and it's never raised. Which I found highly frustrating. Considering the huge logistics that would be needed and set up to pull off the tricks they perform it ended up with me not enjoying the spectacle but rather saying 'Yeah ok! That's impossible' If along the way we had some idea as to what was going on or an insight into their illusions, we could get on board with it and say 'Ah ok. I see know' So it was fairly obvious that there was going to be some twist or huge reveal at the end, and when it came, it was a bit of an anti-climax. Woody Harelson and Jesse Eisenberg are always good so there's no complaints there and it was nice to see Mark Ruffalo in something different too. Morgan Freeman was....... Morgan Freeman. The wise elder that he seems to always play now. This film could've been so much better. It promised a lot but imo failed drastically.
