The way they captured the 'coming to terms with your sexuallity' was perfect. It was just so pure and genuine and you could really feel their love. The little glances and touches and tension, mixed with the constant roller-coaster of emotions, I felt really captured the 'young love' every teen experiences, you know the nerves, butterflies in the stomach etc. But it also captured the added pressure a lot of people don't talk about when having to also figure out your sexuallity. It was realistic too, which I loved, because a lot of American shows tend to go of stereotypes when it comes to creating the characters and then 8 times out of 10 giving them happy endings which just isn't reality. The end scene on the final episode is probably one of my favourite endings of any show. I don't want to spoil to too much but what I will say is they really need a season two because the hug at the end and the whispered "I love you", I think really shows the development Wilhem went through and once again the pain and purtiy of their love. It also shows how he begins to challenge the monarchy and how he's still going through that experience and development that every queer person has gone through, so it would be the perfect way to begin introducing that a bit more in season 2, and start to really focus on the fact that he's going to have to complete the rest of this journey alone, using Simon as his fuel. I believe that journey may also include him challenging the norms and values he's been exposed to through the monarchy a bit more and that hug in the last episode was a foreshadow of that.
