Kantara Chapter 1 Review ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not sure whether it's because of the over hype and raised expectations, this one doesn't live upto the standards of previous one. I felt it was like Kantara meets Ponniyan Selvan meets Bahubali meets Avatar. The reverence, divinity, shock value and mystical feeling which previous one had is missing here. With too much focus on actions scenes,character/world building, CGI the movie feels like a drag by 30 minutes. The natural comedy is also not upto the mark. I was always wishing for Fast forward button and when it arrives on Prime can finish this in 1.5 hours which is the core plot. Music is mostly rehash of previous one. As a huge Kantara fan,for me the movie reinforces the connection with divinity and with the CORE value lost here , I am Hugely disappointed with the prequel. I was NOT able to bow down with reverence at any moment.

I am an Uppi fan and will add comments in his style. Kalegintha Thalene jaasthi antha toriso prayathna mado aa thale iro varegu, bari uppiye kanuvanallade kale yelli kanuvudhu kantha. Cinema should celebrate art and NOT just celebrate only the director. I didn't like it..i didn't like it.

Most of the effort goes up in building up cases and more cases .....to prove that Protagonist is Intelligent and brave and never really focusses on the plot. Typical stereotypical sibling bonding, formula based weak plot. The south east asian Jailer is the best actor by far and others just taking walk in the park !

Awesome. After many days I felt like I was a part of the movie and this is what cinema stands for a portion of reality , a dash of larger than life moments and ample doses of all emotions. Kudos to the team for a mass entertainer where each role has nailed it and world building is top notch with an engrossing background score.Blockbuster all the way.

While the director had the biggest canvas and opportunity to create a masterpiece artwork, the movie is let down by 1. Length of the movie/editing 2. Uninspiring dialogues/screenplay 3. Lack of goosebump/elevation scenes 4. Force fitting Mahabharat connections 5. Average background score 6. Zero value addition cameos While directors vision and grandeur is truly world class, i missed a strong story which binds everything and couldn't emotionality connect with any character. Music : 2 Graphics : 4 Story : 2 Dialogues : 1 Acting : 2

Although it's a routine story, screenplay/dialogues/action sequences stand out. Full marks to D boss for his energetic performance.

Had great expectations but fell short. Very very less whistleworthy moments/dialogues. Not much creativity in action scenes and plot/plan. After some point it was boring to watch slo-mo walking shots in suits. KGF1 was better. It is always to do follow up for a successful franchise.i was disappointed to see a visionless/goal less Don still hanging to the weak thread of mother-son emotion.Yet again stalking and forcing women is glorified with overdose of toxic masculinity. Sanjay dutt is wasted and limited to shouting and glaring.Good make up does not make a good villian ! Expected more confrontations of Rocky and Adheera. No meaty role for Raveena and Rao Ramesh either. Just adding Hindi/Telugu actors to make it a pan India film is not worth it.

Starts a bit slow and picks up towards interval. Some cliche scenes and forced humor could be avoided and trimmed to 20 mins less to keep it tight. Overall an excellent commercial package with awesome music. Kudos to D Boss for being humble enough to give equal importance to Vinod's role. All supporting characters are good. Neat screenplay, good story ,good production values and not much lose ends and D Boss dialogues makes it a great watch.

Awesome. Loved the Narration and how stories intercept. Abhishek is marvelous with eyes doing most of the acting...You will understand how truly he is underrated and underutilized, it our loss if we continue this. Pankanj is as always in form with his effortless portrayal. Rajkumar Rao is lovable with emotion displayed to perfection. A breath of freshness...This deserves a large theatrical release and should get all the awards. Each character is a musical note and together the movie is a symphony controlled by the master Basu da. Even if you take one note away, the rhythm of symphony is affected and cant take any scene away. Its a perfect blend , just sit back and get ready for range of emotions.
