If you ask me to give you one thing I liked about this movie, I'll have a hard time coming up with one. It's the embodiment of the modern Hollywood movie that only relies on recognizable actors, an excessive amount of boring CGI and boring characters. The movie is completely souless while it's trying to convince you otherwise.

This show caught me by complete surprise. I went in having heard nothing about it, and I was very glad that I did. The scale of production of a show that wasn't marketed to hell (at least from what I could (or couldn't) see) amazed me. From the set design, to the costume design and make up, it's done at such an impressive scale. The acting was phenomenon, and the characters are very well done-- I doubt there's one character that wasn't played and written impressively. I don't think I have been immersed into a TV show or a movie for a long time.

I didn't hear about this show at all (which is a shame that it doesn't seem to be very well advertised) until I stumbled on it and only decided to check it out because Alan Tudyk was in the thumbnail. The show is very good at using a concept we're already familiar with but make it completely its own. And I must say, Alan Tudyk is a huge reason for that as he did not disappoint by playing a character that is unworldly, indifferent to any human emotions, a character that progresses to be relatable and full of emotions--not to forget how funny and silly his character was when he needed to be. I think the writer did a really good job to give a fresh perspective to this concept and then ground it in reality in a beautiful way that doesn't alienate anyone. Definitely recommend this show because more people need to be watching it.

Regardless of how truthful the backstories of Dwayne Johnson, I think the stories and light and entertaining with some good casting (I was really impressed with the casting for younger versions of Dwayne specifically and others). My biggest pet peeve with this show is the future scenes of current Dwayne running for president and how absolutely ridiculous they are and how he builds into talking about a story from his past almost saying what an amazing person he is; because even when he talks about something "negative" he does it in the lightest and most positive way possible about himself. That kind of storytelling would bother me even if it was about a fictional character or about a person who is long gone, but to do it about yourself? That actually makes me uncomfortable to watch. I might give up on this show just for that reason.

When season 1 came out, I attempted to watch the show out of curiosity but I wasn't expecting to like it very much--the truth is, I shortly was gripped by the show and I thought it was one of the best shows and not only on Netflix. I love the way the show manages to combine un-sugar-coated realities of life with a heartfelt story and lightheartedness and come cute moments (sometimes in the most unexpected places) and, most certainly, comedy. I am personally at a moment in my life where I'm not often excited or anticipating the next episode or season of whatever I'm watching, but I certainly am all of the above with this show. This is a must-watch!

Honestly, all of these CW action/fantasy shows look almost exactly the same and they all range from bad to mediocre. The Tomorrow People story never feels thought or that the writers were particularly invested in it, so it could never get me invested in any of the characters or the story line. It just feels like they threw a few things together that they thought would work and called it a TV show.
