An honest response to Netflix’s new mini-series, The Queen’s Gambit: Earlier this year for reasons I’ll withhold, I liquidated my stock in Netflix and resigned to cancel my Netflix account. I kept it going for a bit longer for my family’s sake. I got the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset and just for fun opened the Netflix app to see how it appeared in VR and noticed some new titles. After seeing a friend’s recommendation on FB for The Queens Gambit, I decided to watch the trailer and subsequently became spell bound throughout the entire miniseries. Netflix, you’ve held me a bit longer. Watch this series. It’s truly remarkable story telling even if some of the underlying tone is a bit too obvious. Really amazing work to make Chess ♟ gripping and dramatic to this degree. Bravo.
