I don't normally like these kinds of redone shows, but I really like it. I am a huge fan of the original and, for this reason, I was not keen on a remake, but the show feels more like a reimagining. While it has a lot of the amazing characters and personalities from the original, it really is a different show. The original series feels more like a romance with sci-fi and this feels more like sci-fi with romance. It was really cool and openly talks about current issues. The only issue I had with the show was the very clear gay-bait, but the series isn't over yet and the inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters on its own is nice. The renewal also encouraged me to rewatch the original and it was even more interesting to compare them while watching both at the same time. (I'm only 18, so it's not like I watched the original when it came out. I did watch it a while back though when I was like 13. So a newer, fresher version is cool. I didn't think I'd like it, but I really do. The original is still better though.)
