My first Final Fantasy, and one that will always be close to my heart. Having now played VI, VII, VIII, X, X-2, and XII, this and VI stand out as having the best story and the most engaging gameplay (albeit for rather different reasons!). The gambit system was brilliantly well designed, and the sidequests will keep you engaged for hours on end. A work of beauty!
