Acting best : Tamannah
Worst : director execution scenes
Not worthy. Just time pass in OTT
The director of Odela 2 seriously needs to rethink his approach. The storyline is riddled with inconsistencies and illogical developments, making it hard to take the film seriously. For instance, when Tamannaah's character arrives in the village, the demon is shown to have no significant powers. Despite her years of spiritual practice since childhood, the demon somehow manages to master all five elemental powers in just a weekโthanks to possessing the drone guy. This rushed progression feels absurd and undermines the narrative.
The aghori, who is supposed to be a powerful figure, that too from childhood, ends up failing and surrendering, which feels like a wasted opportunity for a compelling arc. The writing lacks depth and coherence, making it seem like the director was more focused on adding unnecessary masala than crafting a solid story. Even films like Arundhati portrayed the demon's journey with patience and effort, but here, everything feels rushed and unearned.
The climax, where the story hinges on waiting for one more chant after death for divine intervention, feels contrived and biased. Itโs hard to overlook the glaring flaws in the plot, and the attempt to hint at a part 3 feels overly ambitious, considering how poorly this installment turned out. The director seems to be in denial about the foolishness he made in this film, and wants to take 3 again. After showing supreme himself ended up finishing.
Overall, Odela 2 fails to live up to expectations, with a weak storyline and poorly executed ideas. Itโs a disappointing watch that leaves the audience questioning the logic and scene writing of the film.
