First, why was Dew reincarnated as a girl? The first part of the movie is a commentary about how wrong gender conversion was and that one must accept people regardless of their gender/sexuality. Then, the gay character was reincarnated as a girl and his gay lover now fell in love with the girl and suddenly he is heterosexual. That is very ironic. Second, a teacher falling in love with a student is not right even if let us say that the student was a reincarnation of an old lover. No! And considering that Liu is just a minor (grade 10)! The age and power dynamics of the teacher-student relationship is just plain wrong. Another issue is infidelity; Phop is married man and he cheated on his wife. Lastly, the jumping into the river in the end. I don't know if I am the one who interpreted it as suicide; and that was their plan to escape their faith? To end their lives? This is awful.
