You should have a closure to a moral dilemma. I think basic legal questions were not ever asked. Glaring loopholes. Was justice served? You decide.

Though longish, the pace doesn't flag. Cast well, the period invoked beautifully, it's gripping. When you almost want the villain to get away with it, you know the film has succeeded on many levels. So often the distinction between black and white is so rigid that there is no gray. It's the gray areas which make for the best drama.

A searing commentary on the true state of India today, warts (and there are many) and all. And what it takes to succeed, which is essentially not in the rule book.

I thought the ending was a cop out and spoiled a really interesting story until the last ten minutes.
