Very sad, but beautiful, poignant, the Japanese, like the Germans, were brutal

Music is well suited to the plot, lyrical, acting is excellent, I've never seen Anthony Hopkins give a bad performance, while Brad Pitt surprises as well, with his restraint! Claire Forlani is another fine actor! Cinematography, scenery, locations, are all very elegant! A high quality production!
