A film that makes you genuinely feel as though you're on location, at the bar, listening and having conversations with these incredibly memorable characters. Its an celebration of an end of an era, ironically shot during the end of era in American history. Many of these characters you spend only a few hours or less with but when all is said you feel as though you've known them for at least a few years. I forgot I was watching a movie. Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets is not only a testament to great story telling within the medium, but also to great film making, as I can only imagine how difficult it was to edit this project. Now usually I get rather tired of the saying, "its more of an experience then a movie" but I think Ross brothers have proved with this endeavor, that it can be both. Regardless, it's an experience I didn't want to end. And I will gladly watch this again, as it is the best film of the year.
