I wish this was better, maybe I am just to close to the book series which is one of my favourites and was something I grew up reading. However, I feel a lot of this could have been much better if they hadn't changed (adapted) so much. I feel like firstly Amazon was the wrong studio (not enough episodes for the material allowed) and secondly Rafe was not the right show runner as he doesn't seem to be focused on the books and the world it portrays but more his career and progressing his CV. Lots of the changes just seem like lazy changes that really may work for a non book reader but hurt for a fan of a book series that has been hoping for a TV adaption for most of their life. I hope this improves in series two however, I am bracing myself for all my most loved scenes either being missing or completely changed from what I read in the original awesome book series. The only thing that the series has done well is getting me to re-read the series again. I am thankful for that at least.
