You can tell it wasn't written by Aussies. The scenes with the tortoises and the Nala stone men where laughable. For me details matter. It has the feel of what visitors think the outback is like but the realties seems to vanish when they are inconvenient to the plot. The players are a little thin. More Caricature than real. The story it's self carries the viewer along at a reasonable clip but looses the pace a little toward the end. There is a late injection of some real grittiness but like any injection it feels like the introduction of something foreign. At odds with the feel of the rest. I'm sure many viewers will enjoy it but I found it lacking.

Disappointing. Despite it's location this is a fairly standard thriller. Many of the plot points build frustration rather than tension in how far they strain credibility. It's failure to develop the "he said", "she said" sides of the story equally added to this viewers dissatisfaction. Although the ending was somewhat emotionally pleasing the journey to get there was far too long. Overall it left me as cold as the location.
