I really enjoyed the familiarity of this story. Day’s writing is refreshing & unique encouraging us to deeper connections with our landscape. Although many of the places in this book are fictional, I recognise many of them & I could really identify with Sarah & the satisfaction she found in her life. I love Day’s use of the surreal & I found myself taken on a journey back through time with timeless understandings! It was not an easy read for me, took me time to settle into his style, but I do love his unique prose & the surprise of many of the characters who bring such richness to the story. This is a book for those who enjoy the unusual & a literary challenge. I think it is remarkable!
