I have always loved the matrix movies, I’ve watched them all repeatedly growing up since I was a little kid. So when I found out that they were making Resurrection…of course I just had to see it. And let’s just say…I’ve watched it at least 4 times within a week. Paying more and more attention than the last. I LOVE IT! Yes, there are a handful of differences from the original trilogy. Some scenes could have used more action, and there’s the feeling that the movie was missing something that could have made it even more of a hit. Personally, my biggest complaint was how watered down the bullet time seemed to be. But all of that was drowned out for the most part due to the nostalgia I felt after each watch, the callback to the original films, and how the story came together as a whole after Revolution. When something like that takes me back to being a kid again, I can’t help but feel utter appreciation. All in all, I would consider this to be an amazing film. Plus, Keanu Reeves will always hold a special place in my heart. For those new to the franchise, I highly recommend watching the trilogy(plus the animated shorts) before seeing Resurrection!
