AJ Bridges

It's very rare that I do not finish an action movie; or actually very rare that I don't finish ANY movie. So, I have been a fan of Hardy ever since the Daredevil / The Punisher days, and thought he made an excellent Frank Castle. However, this movie was just poorly written and it was lousy, but at no fault of Hardy. Extremely unrealistic, it makes the Terminator seem like a PBS documentary. The plot had potential, but it just seemed to drag on and on after the first forty-five minutes. With around 25 minutes left to go, I cut Netflix off and decided there were better things to do with my remaining half an hour.

Netflix recommended this series so thought I would give it a shot. The first five minutes of the "raid" were exciting but unrealistic. I don't know how search warrants are carried out in the UK, but I highly doubt a SWAT team in full gear with machine guns would be sent after any 13 year old anywhere. Especially knocking the door in and shoving machine guns in everyone's face. That's unrealistic even by US standards of police force. Secondly, the detectives (and teachers at the school for that matter) are bumbling, fumbling amateurs who seem clueless about how to do actual interviews, particularly with younger people. I made it to the end of Episode 2, and that's all that I could take. The plot and progression just never did anything to pull me in and entice me to watch it further. The overall idea, and the actors, had great potential but it fell short in so many areas that it made viewing it further not worth my time.

Quite possibly the WORST M. Night Shymalan movie, and that's saying quite a bit. The plot, the plot progression, the ending, just all bad bad bad. I'm glad I didn't actually PAY to see this movie or I'd be severely disappointed!

The final episode of season one was almost ridiculous in the way it's plot played out. Prior episodes are far too risque and contain material that should have been x-rated and is not suitable for minors, or anyone else really. Anthony Hopkins is the only reason I watched this ... And he doesn't consist of more than an hour of screen time in all.

Within the first three minutes I could tell this was a flop. Between the student in the classroom who sounds as if he's straight reading a script of paper to Freeman (his professor) to the ridiculous scene where the abuser fellow is shot while sitting on his bed with his weapon under the sheets, it just started off bad and got worse. I saw Morgan Freeman and the title of this and thought 'Hmm, probably like the movie Seven." News flash, if wasn't. I fell asleep twice attempting to make it through this sad excuse for an action drama film. Bad acting, bad plot, bad everything.

I wish I had read the reviews and synopsis of the movie plot before renting this for $6.99 on Google Movies. I have always loved Gibson in all of his roles, whether as a protagonist or antagonist. His role as Chris Cringle in this strange movie presents him as a strange and dark anti-hero. After the first 30 to 40 minutes of the film I kept waiting for the punchline or plot change, all to no avail. As others have mentioned I can't for the life of me understand how any film agency or producer ever went along with making this debacle. Sadly disappointed.

Bad. Just bad. Bad acting. Bad plot. Bad language.

Horrible waste of time and $3.99. Probably the worst Shymalan film to date.
